About Our Firm

Excel Complete provides ERP rescue and recovery services for organizations experiencing project delays, system issues, reporting challenges, or implementation difficulties. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we serve clients across the United States through both remote and on-site engagements.

Our team combines accounting, financial modeling, and software engineering experience to evaluate both the business and technical aspects of ERP projects. Having developed custom ERP systems, reporting platforms, and operational software, we understand the challenges organizations face when an ERP project is not going as planned.

If your ERP project is facing challenges, you can schedule a call with an experienced consultant immediately to discuss the situation and next steps. Our goal is to provide actionable recommendations and peace of mind quickly. We'll conduct technical reviews, develop recovery roadmaps, provide custom development, and provide implementation support to help stabilize projects and move them forward.

ERP Rescue Scenarios

When an ERP project is not meeting requirements, rescue services can help get the project back on track. Below are some of the most common challenges we see for clients needing to utilize rescue services.

ERP Software Doesn't Match Business Processes

This is a common issue with off-the-shelf ERP software. During the sales process, software capabilities are often presented at a high level. Later, discovering important workflows and business logic requires additional customization or is not supported. ERP rescue services help identify these gaps and determine how to close them.

Reporting Doesn't Meet Management Needs

Executives, finance teams, and operational leaders need reporting that supports decision-making, but those requirements are sometimes overlooked during implementation. Excel Complete can quickly review existing reporting capabilities and develop custom dashboards, reporting solutions, financial reporting tools, GL mapping structures, and management reporting systems.

Data and Integration Issues

Many ERP systems are expected to connect with accounting software, payroll systems, CRM platforms, inventory systems, and other business applications. Poor integrations, duplicate records, inconsistent data, and data quality issues can create operational challenges and reduce confidence in the system. ERP recovery projects often focus on cleaning data, improving integrations, and establishing more reliable processes.

Projects Running Behind Schedule

Many ERP projects in need of rescue are over budget, key functionality has not been delivered, or important deadlines are approaching. This is one of Excel Complete's most common ERP rescue scenarios. We quickly step in to provide technical guidance, assist with development, review system architecture, and build custom modules that address missing functionality while long-term solutions are evaluated and implemented.

Departure of Key Personnel

ERP projects often rely on a small number of key individuals. When a project manager, consultant, developer, ERP administrator, COO, CTO, or department leader leaves, projects can quickly fall behind, and important knowledge may be lost.

Excel Complete can quickly step in, understand the business logic and project goals, and help move the project forward. Our team will serve as the go-to resource during periods of transition. Experience across accounting, operations, reporting, and software development allows us to bridge both business and technical gaps when key personnel leave.

ERP Recovery Roadmap

A roadmap is one of the most critical parts of an ERP recovery. It outlines available options, estimated costs, implementation timelines, and the advantages and disadvantages of each potential path forward.

As part of the ERP Recovery Roadmap, Excel Complete typically:

  • Meets with stakeholders to review project objectives, business goals, and implementation challenges
  • Reviews reporting, data, and integration requirements
  • Maps business processes and operational workflows
  • Meets with employees who perform day-to-day tasks to understand how processes should function
  • Reviews technical environments, governance policies, and development limitations

Following the review process, Excel Complete will provide a PDF roadmap outlining findings, recommendations, estimated costs, implementation timelines, and the advantages and disadvantages of potential recovery paths. This roadmap helps organizations understand their options and act on the best information available.

ERP Recovery Service Costs

Recovery engagements will begin with the ERP Recovery Roadmap, starting at $5,000. This provides both the client and our team with clarity on how to proceed and quote additional work.

Following completion of the roadmap, organizations may choose to implement recommendations internally, work with an existing implementation partner, or engage Excel Complete for additional development. Additional services are provided on a fixed-fee basis or on a monthly retainer agreement.
